| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a magnificent thousand-armed Guanyin Bodhisattva (千手观音), the central sculptural masterpiece of the Dazu Rock Carvings in Chongqing, rendered in high relief. The serene frontal effigy of Guanyin is shown seated in a meditative posture, her multiple arms radiating symmetrically outward and upward in a fan-like aureole, each hand bearing a symbolic attribute. The sculptural composition faithfully reproduces the monumental Tang-Song dynasty stone carving in exquisite detail. The denomination '2000元' is inscribed in Chinese characters along the lower rim. The overall design conveys the grandeur and spiritual artistry of this UNESCO World Heritage site. |

The Dazu Rock Carvings, carved primarily between the 9th and 13th centuries across more than 75 sites in Chongqing Municipality, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999 — one of the few such designations China received that decade for a site outside its imperial capital centers. The carvings are unusual in Chinese Buddhist art for their heavy integration of Confucian and Taoist iconography alongside Buddhist figures, reflecting the syncretic religious politics of the late Tang and Song periods.
China's 150g gold commemorative series has issued relatively few pieces tied to inland Sichuan Basin heritage, making this one of the more regionally specific entries in the program.
