Uganda's commemorative silver program in the early 2000s was contracted through foreign minting houses — this piece almost certainly struck at the British Royal Mint or a European private mint rather than within Uganda itself, a common arrangement for sub-Saharan issuers without domestic precious-metal striking capacity. The Bank of Uganda held no meaningful role in design decisions for most of these issues.
Collector demand for this series has remained thin, with secondary market prices rarely recovering issue cost.
