The legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by a beaded border. Additional information

Uganda's Bank issued a series of silver-plated sport and celebrity pieces in the mid-2000s, most with limited genuine collector infrastructure behind them — these were primarily sold through third-party distributors targeting the novelty market rather than serious numismatic channels. Blokhin was chosen almost certainly on the strength of his 2004 FIFA World Player of the Century award, which briefly made him the most internationally recognized figure in Soviet football history.

His club career at Dynamo Kyiv ran under close KGB oversight, as the club was formally administered by the Ukrainian SSR's secret police apparatus throughout his playing years.
