Obverse description The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Uganda in the centre of the field, featuring a traditional shield flanked by a Uganda kob (antelope) rearing on the left and a grey crowned crane on the right, with a drum and crossed spears at the base, set upon a green mound with the national motto 'FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY' inscribed on a scroll below. The purity mark '999' appears beneath the coat of arms. The issuer's legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the date '19 93' is divided on either side of the central device, and the denomination '2000 SHILLINGS' curves along the lower border. A beaded border frames the entire design.
