Obverse description The central field features the coat of arms of Uganda in high relief against a mirror-like proof field, depicting a kob antelope as the dexter supporter and a grey crowned crane as the sinister supporter, both flanking a shield charged with a sun motif and crossed spears. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY in the legend. The upper arc carries the issuer legend BANK OF UGANDA, the date 1994 is divided on either side of the shield, and the denomination 2000 SHILLINGS arcs along the lower periphery. The entire design is bordered by a continuous beaded inner circle.

Reverse description The central field displays a vivid full-color applied image depicting the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady) in Munich, Germany, showing its two distinctive red-brick towers surmounted by characteristic onion-shaped domes rendered in blue-green tones, with a panoramic aerial view of the city in the background. The inscription FRAUEN KIRCHE appears to the right of the towers within the colored vignette. The upper arc of the coin carries the series legend FAMOUS PLACES IN THE WORLD, while the city name MUNICH is inscribed along the lower arc. The design is framed by a beaded inner border against a dark proof field.
