Obverse description The national coat of arms of Uganda is depicted centrally, featuring a kob antelope as the dexter supporter and a grey crowned crane as the sinister supporter, flanking a shield charged with a drum and crossed spears above a representation of the River Nile, all set upon a grassy compartment. A scroll below bears the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY. The date 1993 is divided across the field to either side of the arms, with the issuer legend BANK OF UGANDA arching along the upper periphery and the denomination 2000 SHILLINGS inscribed along the lower periphery.
