正面描述 Traditional Nepalese mandala-style design occupying the central field, composed of a cruciform geometric framework with the full royal name and titles of King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev inscribed in Devanagari script across the four quadrants. A trident (trishula) symbol appears within a central circle at the intersection of the cross. Four auxiliary symbols are positioned in the outer quadrants — a sun, a moon, a leaf motif, and a club-like symbol — each referencing traditional Nepali royal iconography. The Bikram Sambat regnal year 2061 is inscribed at the base within the framework, and a row of evenly spaced dots borders the entire design near the rim.

附加信息

Nepal's qualification for the 2002 FIFA World Cup was not the occasion here — the country has never qualified. This is a straightforward commemorative issued by Nepal Rastra Bank in the wave of World Cup-themed silver strikes that circulated among collector markets in the early 2000s, bearing the name of King Gyanendra Bir Bikram, who had assumed the throne in 2001 following the royal massacre that killed nine members of the royal family, including King Birendra.

Gyanendra's reign was politically turbulent from the start, with Maoist insurgency intensifying and a royal coup in 2005 still ahead.
