Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features the coloured coat of arms of Qatar, depicting a traditional dhow under sail with a palm tree on a yellow and maroon background, flanked by two crossed swords, encircled by a dark ring bearing the legend 'Qatar Central Bank' in cursive Latin script. The Arabic legend 'اليوم الوطني' and the bilingual inscription 'NATIONAL DAY' arc across the upper portion of the coin, with the dual-script date '2007' and '٢٠٠٧' appearing to the left and right of the central device respectively. The denomination 'QR 2000' is inscribed in bold Latin characters along the lower rim. The entire design is set within a deeply mirrored proof field with a reeded border.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central field displays the coloured Qatari coat of arms in the same style as the obverse, featuring a dhow under sail, a palm tree, and two crossed swords on a yellow and maroon ground, enclosed within a circular device. A bilingual legend encircles the design, reading 'الشيخ جاسم بن محمد بن ثاني آل ثاني' in Arabic and 'Sheikh Jassim Bin Muhammad Bin Thani Al Thani' in Latin script, both arcing around the upper and lateral periphery. Below the central device, the founding date of modern Qatar is inscribed in both Arabic-Indic numerals '١٨-١٢-١٨٧٨' and Western numerals '18-12-1878', commemorating Sheikh Jassim's assumption of leadership on 18 December 1878. The reverse field is mirror-polished in proof finish.

Aanvullende informatie

Qatar's National Day on December 18 commemorates the 1878 accession of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, though the holiday itself was only officially established in 2007 — the same year this coin was issued, making it among the earliest commemoratives tied to the newly formalized observance. The Qatar Central Bank's commemorative program of this period was notably restrained in output, and .925 silver pieces at this size were produced in strictly limited quantities for collector distribution rather than circulation.
