Reverse description A bold Greek cross of the Order of Christ, its arms terminating in squared ends and enclosed within a beaded inner circle, occupies the centre of the field. Four small floral ornaments are placed between the arms of the cross at the cardinal points, imparting a decorative quality to the composition. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the periphery, incorporating the date ANNO 1773 at the top and the continuation of the royal title at the sides and base, all contained within the characteristic reeded outer border.
