The Queen's Beasts series ran from 2016 to 2021, issuing ten separate heraldic creatures drawn from the sculptural installation created by James Woodford for Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation. The Completer coin was struck to close the series, incorporating all ten beasts simultaneously — a format used by the Royal Mint to mark the conclusion of multi-year programs and, practically, to sell one final high-value proof to collectors who had followed the run.
At 2,010 grams of .9999 fine gold, fewer than a handful of these were produced. The Royal Mint has never published an official mintage figure for this piece.
