The Seymour Panther is one of the ten heraldic beasts drawn from the supporters and badges of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, revived by the Royal Mint as part of the Tudor Beasts series launched in 2022. The original panther badge, depicted with flames issuing from its mouth and ears in medieval heraldry, was associated with the Seymour family and passed into royal heraldry through Henry's third marriage. At 2,010 grams of .999 fine gold struck to proof standard across 150mm, this is among the largest and most technically demanding coins the Royal Mint produces — mintages are tightly restricted and seldom disclosed in advance.
