| 背面描述 | Elaborate Gothic Crown-inspired quartered arms composition designed by William Wyon, presenting the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom divided into four quarters by an ornate cross pattée with a central roundel bearing the Royal Cypher. The upper-left and lower-right quarters display the three passant guardant lions of England; the upper-right quarter bears the rampant lion of Scotland within a double tressure flory-counter-flory; the lower-left quarter features the Irish harp. The four corner spandrels contain the Tudor rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek as national floral emblems, set against a finely hatched diaper background. The Gothic blackletter legend TUEATUR UNITA DEUS encircles the upper field and ANNO DOM MMXXI the lower, with the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE appearing in the lateral fields; the entire design is framed by an elaborate beaded and Gothic foliate border. |

The Gothic Crown series revisits William Wyon's 1847 crown — arguably the finest piece of British coin design ever produced — reissuing it at progressively larger scales as a modern prestige vehicle for the Royal Mint's bullion proof program. This particular piece, at over two kilograms of fine gold, is among the largest coins ever struck under Royal Mint authority.
The 1847 original was never intended for circulation; it was struck expressly for presentation and quickly became a collector's obsession. That same logic governs this issue entirely.
