Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Dominican Republic is depicted centrally within the field, surrounded by the issuer's name REPUBLICA DOMINICANA along the upper legend. The denomination DOS MIL PESOS and the date appear below the arms, with the weight 31.16 grs. inscribed to the left and the platinum fineness .9995 to the right. The design follows a standard heraldic presentation consistent with Dominican commemorative coinage of this period.

Reverse description The central field features a detailed relief of a world globe rendered with continental outlines, overlaid at centre by a radiating starburst or chi-rho-style symbol evoking Christian iconography. Three doves in flight are depicted in high relief, ascending across the left side of the globe in a dynamic composition symbolising peace and the dawn of the third Christian millennium. The circular legend TERCER MILENIO DEL CRISTIANISMO runs around the periphery, separated by a five-pointed star on the right, against a deeply mirrored proof field that frames the frosted design elements.
