Reverse description The central field displays an elaborate Aztec pictorial composition: two large crossed wooden beams form an X-motif, upon which an eagle with spread wings perches at the apex, referencing the founding symbol of Tenochtitlan. Surrounding the crossed beams are multiple seated and kneeling indigenous figures rendered in a pre-Columbian stylistic idiom, interspersed with plant motifs and hieroglyphic elements. The Madrid mint mark and the series identifier appear in the lower left and lower right of the inner field respectively. The circumferential legend QVINTO CENTENARIO arcs around the upper border, while the denomination 2000 PTAS is inscribed along the lower border, all separated by beaded borders.
