| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Ferdinand VII facing three-quarters to the right, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The name FERNANDO VII appears vertically to the right of the effigy. The surrounding legend JUAN CARLOS I REY DE ESPAÑA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by two fleur-de-lis ornaments at the lower sides. The date 19M98, with the Madrid mint mark M, is inscribed in the lower exergue. The rim is bordered by a fine beaded inner circle. |
