Obverse description Intaglio portrait vignette of the Nobel Prize-winning Spanish poet Juan Ramón Jiménez (1881–1958) at centre-right, rendered in fine line engraving. The Coat of Arms of Spain appears to the left, flanked by guilloche underprint work in the background. Date and issuing authority inscriptions appear at lower centre, with spaces for three manuscript signatures of the Governor, Auditor, and Cashier.

Reverse description Central vignette of the facade of the Moguer Town Hall (Ayuntamiento de Moguer), the Andalusian town closely associated with Juan Ramón Jiménez. A facsimile autograph fragment from the poet's composition 'Spring Ballads' ('Baladas de Primavera') is reproduced below the architectural vignette, framed by guilloche border ornamentation. Denomination numerals appear at left and right within the overall design.
