| 正面描述 | The obverse is dominated by teal guilloche border bands at top and bottom bearing the numeral 2000, with the bank title in Arabic script along the upper band. At centre-left, a large circular watermark window is surrounded by a pale multicolour underprint; a yellow EURion constellation security element appears at the far left margin. To the right, an elaborate intaglio panel displays an ornate geometric vignette with interlaced Islamic arabesque motifs in blue and red, enclosing the denomination numeral in a central medallion. Two signature facsimiles appear at lower left, and the Arabic denomination legend ألفا أوقية is printed in bold intaglio script across the lower centre. |

| 备注 |
The 2000 Ouguiya was the highest denomination in Mauritanian circulation when this series was introduced, reflecting cumulative inflation in an economy heavily dependent on iron ore exports and fishing revenues. Mauritania's currency is one of only two in the world — the other being Madagascar's Ariary — not based on a decimal subdivision of ten; the Ouguiya divides into 5 Khoums, a structure rooted in the pre-metric counting systems of the region.
G&D's Leipzig facility produced the note on cotton substrate with EURion constellation encoding, the latter a machine-readable anti-counterfeiting pattern that triggers reprographic software to refuse reproduction — relatively new to Mauritanian issues at this point in the series.
