| 备注 |
The 2000 Lire denomination was introduced in 1973 as a practical response to Italian inflation eroding the usefulness of smaller notes. Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, whose signature appears on the 1983 date, would later serve as Governor of the Banca d'Italia until 1993, then as Treasury Minister, and eventually as President of the Republic — making him arguably the most consequential figure to have signed Italian banknotes in the twentieth century.
Three signature combinations across a decade of issue means date-signature pairings matter for completeness collectors. The Carli & Barbarito pairing is the most common; the Ciampi & Stevani the least frequently encountered in uncirculated state.
