Obverse description Central vignette of the crowned supported arms of Romania at centre, with a portrait of King Ferdinand I above. The MF monogram of the Ministerul Finanțelor appears in medallions at left and right, flanked by ornate guilloche borderwork. Denomination numerals and issuer inscriptions are arranged across the upper and lower margins in letterpress.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large central guilloche vignette in an elongated lozenge form, within which the denomination numeral "2000" is set in bold white relief against a finely engine-turned underprint. "ROMANIA" appears in bold decorative lettering at the top, with "MINISTERUL FINANTELOR" arched beneath it. Denomination medallions bearing "2000" occupy each corner, and a legal warning text against counterfeiting runs along the lower margin, with the printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Company at the foot.
