| 表面の銘文 | MIHAI I REGELE ROMANILOR 1946 H. IONESCU (Translation: MIHAI I KING OF ROMANIANS 1946 H. IONESCU) |
| 裏面の説明 | The full Romanian royal coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by a royal crown and supported by two rampant lions. The shield bears the traditional heraldic divisions of the Romanian kingdom, and the ensemble rests on a decorative foliate base with a ribbon cartouche below carrying the royal motto. The legend ROMANIA arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 2000 LEI and the motto NIHIL SINE DEO are inscribed in the lower portion of the coin. |

This denomination was issued in the final months of Mihai I's reign under conditions of extreme political duress. The Soviet-backed Petru Groza government had already been installed by March 1945 under direct pressure from Andrei Vyshinsky, effectively stripping the monarchy of any real authority. Mihai remained on the throne as a figurehead while the communists consolidated power — his name on the coinage a formality rather than a reflection of sovereignty.
He was forced to abdicate in December 1947, just months after coins of this type were still in circulation.
