Obverse description The Zambian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by a man and a woman in traditional dress, one on each side. Above the shield, a fish eagle with outstretched wings serves as the crest, perched above crossed pickaxe and hoe. The date 1994 is split to either side of the supporters, with '19' to the left and '94' to the right. The legend ZAMBIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 2000 KWACHA appears in bold lettering along the lower margin. A fine reeded border frames the entire design.
