A curiosity from the dissolution-era chaos of 1991–92, when Croatia's official currency situation was genuinely unstable — the Yugoslav dinar was still nominally in use while the Croatian dinar was being introduced in stages. In that gap, some institutions issued their own scrip. This note, issued by the J. J. Strossmayer University student center in Osijek, functioned as a local meal or canteen voucher rather than circulating currency in any conventional sense.

Osijek sat close to the front lines during the war with Yugoslav federal forces, and the university continued operating under difficult conditions throughout 1991 and into 1992. That institutional stubbornness is the only reason this piece exists.
