Opmerkingen

UBS — then still Schweizerische Bankgesellschaft, a year before the 1998 merger that created the modern UBS entity — commissioned Orell Füssli to produce this test note as an internal security evaluation piece, not for any circulation or promotional purpose. Roger Pfund, the Geneva-based designer responsible for the Swiss National Bank's 1976–1995 banknote series, brought the same exacting graphic sensibility here that earned that series its reputation among security printers.

Test notes of this type were printed in controlled quantities to trial inks, substrates, or anti-counterfeiting features under real press conditions. They rarely left the building.
