At right, the coat of arms of Cameroon is prominently displayed, featuring a shield with scales of justice, crossed fasces, and flanking axes, surmounted by a star, with bilingual motto legends reading PAIX / PEACE, TRAVAIL / WORK, and PATRIE / FATHERLAND arranged around the shield. The upper field carries the legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and the date 2019 in raised lettering. The denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA is boldly inscribed in the lower central field, with the fineness mark Ag 999 and the Mint of Poland mintmark (MW) appearing to the lower right. | Descrição do reverso | The reverse presents a finely detailed high-relief reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's monumental mural 'The Last Supper' (ca. 1495–1498), rendered across the full rectangular field of the coin. Jesus Christ is depicted at center, his figure selectively colorized in vivid red and orange tones to distinguish him from the twelve apostles gathered along the long table on either side. The apostles are shown in animated groups, their gestures and expressions faithfully reproduced from the original composition. The architectural background of the refectory, including tapestried wall panels rendered in warm copper-red selective colorization and a central arched doorway, frames the scene with Renaissance perspective. The antique finish enhances the sculptural relief, creating a dramatic chiaroscuro effect consistent with the masterwork's painterly origins. |
