The Sahasrara is the crown chakra in Hindu and Tantric tradition, associated with transcendence and spiritual enlightenment — a concept with no particular connection to the six BEAC member states of central Africa. These chakra-themed issues are frankly collector novelties, produced under license for the international bullion and numismatic gift market rather than any domestic monetary purpose. The Swarovski crystal inserts are contractually specified; the Austrian firm has supplied crystals for dozens of similar issues across multiple nominal issuers.
