The Oliwa Cathedral organ, located in Gdańsk, Poland, is one of the most celebrated Baroque pipe organs in Europe, built across several phases from the late 17th century and expanded significantly in the 18th. Its association with a Central African franc issue is entirely a product of the modern bullion collectibles market, in which BEAC member states — Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, the Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo — license their currency authority to European minting houses producing themed collector pieces with no domestic circulation whatsoever.
The glass insert mimics the organ's famous illuminated façade pipes, a feature added to the instrument in 1763.
