| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the Gabonese Republic occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by two black panthers rampant, the shield bearing a ship at sea in the lower half and three roundels in the upper half, surmounted by a silk-cotton tree with a golden sun rising behind it. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto UNION · TRAVAIL · JUSTICE. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals. The denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA and the date 2014 are inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by the fineness mark Ag 925 to the left and the weight 15,55 with the Moscow Mint privy mark to the right. |
