| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse features the coat of arms of Cameroon centrally placed in the field, depicting a shield bearing scales of justice surmounted by a star, flanked by crossed fasces and inscribed with 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' on a ribbon below. Surrounding the arms is a dynamic high-relief composition of numerous human hands radiating outward in all directions, filling the field in an artistic sculptural manner. The upper legend reads 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' with 'TRAVAIL' and 'PAIX PATRIE' interspersed among the hands at left and right respectively. The figures, both male and female, are shown reclining and entwined across the full field of the coin, their forms modelled with fine anatomical detail and a strong sense of three-dimensionality against a swirling background. The composition conveys the allegorical theme of Lust, one of the seven deadly sins. In the lower portion of the field, the title 'Lust' is inscribed in flowing cursive script, serving as the sole legend on this face. |
