| Obverse description | Central field dominated by an intricate Norse-style knotwork composition executed in high relief, featuring two intertwined serpentine beasts or dragons rendered in the Urnes-influenced Viking artistic tradition, their sinuous bodies forming elaborate interlaced patterns. At the apex of the central medallion, the Valknut — three interlocked triangles, symbol of Odin — is prominently displayed above a solar or compass wheel motif at centre. The textured border simulates a rough-hewn stone surface, evoking a runic stele, and carries the circular legend inscribed in a runic-style Latin font reading REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN at the top, with 2025 to the right, AG 999 at lower right, 2 oz at upper left, and 2000 FRANCS CFA along the lower arc. |

| Reverse description | A dramatic high-relief effigy of Leif Eriksson, the Norse explorer, depicted as a powerful, bearded warrior in three-quarter view facing right. He is clad in fur-lined armour with intricately engraved knotwork detailing and wears a diademed headband; his long hair and beard flow freely. In his left hand he holds a red-coloured drinking horn with colour application, and in his right hand he grips a large battle axe decorated with Celtic knotwork. Behind him, a Viking longship with a dragon prow is visible in the middle ground, with mountains, forests, and horsemen suggesting the shores of a newly discovered land. Norse interlace ornamental borders flank the lower portion of the field, above which a scroll cartouche bears the incuse legend LEIF ERIKSSON. |
