At the centre, the national coat of arms of Cameroon — a shield bearing scales of justice flanked by two crossed fasces — is depicted in relief, surrounded by the circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and the motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE. Below the arms appear the fineness mark AG 999, the date 2024, and the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA. The overall design evokes the universality and diversity of human written communication across civilisations. |

The Indus Valley Civilization — centered on sites like Mohenjo-daro and Harappa in what is now Pakistan and northwest India — collapsed around 1900 BCE under circumstances still debated: prolonged drought, shifting river courses, and disrupted trade networks are all implicated. The BEAC has no historical, geographical, or cultural connection to it whatsoever.
