| Obverse description | The obverse presents a striking typographic and pictographic composition radiating concentrically from the central device. The outermost ring displays the Latin alphabet in sequence, followed by the Greek alphabet, and successive inner rings feature an array of ancient and undeciphered scripts including Indus Valley script glyphs, Mayan hieroglyphs, proto-cuneiform, and other archaic writing systems, arranged in diminishing concentric bands toward the centre. At the centre, the national coat of arms of Cameroon — a shield bearing scales of justice flanked by two crossed fasces — is depicted in relief, surrounded by the circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and the motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE. Below the arms appear the fineness mark AG 999, the date 2024, and the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA. The overall design evokes the universality and diversity of human written communication across civilisations. |
