| 裏面の説明 | A massive, fearsome creature identified as the biblical Behemoth is depicted in ultra-high relief, occupying virtually the entire field of the coin. The beast is rendered as a hulking, armored quadruped with a heavily textured hide suggestive of stone or bone plating, prominent curved horns, and a wide-open maw with dripping fangs facing right. Powerful clawed limbs are visible in the foreground, while a background of vertical streaks suggests torrential rain or curtains of water, with small flame motifs visible at the lower right. The incuse legend 'BEHEMOTH' appears in bold, stylized lettering at the base of the design. |

Cameroon has issued commemorative silver coinage under its own authority since the early 2000s, but the program accelerated sharply after roughly 2015 under arrangements with European minting houses — primarily Scottsdale Mint and B.H. Mayer — producing high-relief, themed pieces for the international collector market rather than any domestic monetary use. The Behemoth issue draws from the creature described in Job 40, a passage long debated by scholars as referring to a hippopotamus, an elephant, or a purely mythological beast.
The gilded variant carries the KM#716a designation, distinguishing it from the standard silver strike.
