Cameroon has issued coins through the Paris Mint under a licensing arrangement that has produced dozens of collector-market pieces with little to no domestic circulation. This "2000 Francs" denomination exists purely for the bullion and numismatic export market — the face value bears no relationship to purchasing power or monetary policy in Cameroon itself, where the CFA franc circulates under monetary agreements with France and the BEAC.
