Comments

The 2000 Francs denomination was introduced to Djibouti's currency series as the country's economy expanded following port and free-zone development in the 2000s — the note filled a practical gap between the 1000 and 5000 Franc values that had long defined everyday commerce. Djibouti's franc has been pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 177.721 since 1973, which removes inflationary pressure but also means these notes circulated heavily without reissue pressure.

The printed date of 30 April 1945 in the catalog data is almost certainly a database error — no Djiboutian central bank note dates to that year.
