| 表面の説明 | A full-length profile view of a Komondor dog in standing pose, depicted in finely detailed relief showcasing the breed's characteristic corded coat rendered with exceptional sculptural precision. The country name MAGYARORSZÁG arcs along the upper legend, while the mint mark BP. appears to the lower left and the date 2020 to the lower right of the central motif. The face value 2000 FORINT is inscribed in two lines across the lower field. The mirrored background field contrasts with the raised design, giving a prooflike appearance. |

Issued as part of Hungary's long-running "Hungarian fauna" commemorative series, this coin honors the Komondor, a livestock guardian breed developed on the Hungarian plains over roughly a thousand years — one of the oldest verifiably Hungarian dog breeds in continuous documented existence. The breed nearly vanished during World War II, when German and Soviet troops reportedly shot Komondorok on sight, interpreting the distinctive corded coat as a threat or oddity; postwar census efforts found the population critically reduced.
The Adamo EM406 reference places this firmly within the bimetallic and special alloy commemorative sequence the MNB has issued since the 1990s.
