| 背面描述 | Blue-violet and deep blue-green on multicolour underprint. The composition centres on a caravel with lateen sails set against a reproduction of the cartographic chart attributed to Henricus Martellus Germanus, accompanied by the Pattern of St. Gregório and assorted nautical emblems evoking the Age of Discoveries. A passage from Camões' Os Lusíadas is rendered in intaglio lettering alongside the denomination numeral. |

The 2nd print of this 2000 Escudos series extends across five distinct signature dates between 1995 and 2000 — an unusually long production window that reflects Portugal's cautious monetary transition rather than any particular demand surge. António José Fernandes de Sousa anchors every signing combination until the final date, when Vítor Constâncio, who had become Banco de Portugal Governor in 2000, appears for the first time on this denomination.
The 07.11.2000 date is notable: Portugal had formally adopted the euro as its legal tender unit in January 1999, making these among the last escudo notes signed for release before the physical euro changeover in January 2002. Notes signed that November were not issued for long circulation.
