Obverse description The arms of Guyana are rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, comprising a shield divided into quarters bearing a Canje pheasant, a Victoria regia lily, three wavy lines representing the rivers, and a pickaxe and sugarcane stalk. The shield is supported by a jaguar dexter and a harpy eagle sinister, both standing on a ribbon scroll bearing the national motto. A Cacique's Crown crest surmounts the shield. The legend GUYANA arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering.
