| 表面の説明 | The obverse displays the full national coat of arms of Guyana at center, featuring a shield charged with waves and a canje pheasant, supported by two jaguars rampant on either side, and surmounted by an Amerindian headdress as crest. A scroll beneath the supporters bears the national motto in three segments: ONE PEOPLE to the left, ONE NATION at center, and ONE DESTINY to the right. The legend BANK OF GUYANA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2013 inscribed in the lower field. |

The Berbice Rebellion of 1763 was the most significant slave uprising in Dutch colonial history, lasting nearly a year and at one point controlling most of the colony under the leadership of Cuffy, an enslaved Akan man who is now recognized as Guyana's national hero. The Dutch were forced to negotiate with the rebels — a humiliation that sent shockwaves through Caribbean plantation economies — before ultimately suppressing the revolt with reinforcements from neighboring colonies and Amerindian auxiliaries.
This commemorative was issued fifty years after Guyanese independence, part of a broader effort to anchor national identity in pre-independence resistance rather than colonial administration.
