Reverse description The natural stone arch of Tassili N'Ajjer National Park is set against a panoramic composition of Saharan rock formations, rendered in a muted palette of ochre and desert tones. The Grand Mosque of Algiers (Djamaa el Djazaïr) with its distinctive minaret appears within the landscape, accompanied by guilloché border ornamentation in geometric Arabesque motifs at left and right margins. Denomination numerals and issuer inscriptions in Arabic appear within the design field.

Algeria's 2000 Dinar denomination has historically been the highest value circulating note in the country, and this 2022 issue marks the series' first appearance on a hybrid substrate — a polymer-cotton composite rather than pure polymer or pure cotton rag. The move was driven partly by durability concerns in high-value notes that circulate intensively in cash-heavy economies with limited card infrastructure, and partly by counterfeiting pressures that had affected earlier linen-based issues.

The security package is relatively robust for the region, incorporating colour-shifting ink alongside a holographic stripe — features absent from earlier Algerian high-denomination printings.
