Additional information

This denomination was struck during the first full year of Reza Shah's reign following his formal coronation in April 1926, when the former Cossack brigadier had already abolished the Qajar dynasty and installed himself as founder of the Pahlavi line. The coinage reform that accompanied this transition was deliberate — a hard break from Qajar monetary conventions intended to signal a modernizing state on par with Atatürk's Turkey next door.

KM#1100 is known with minor die variations across the two-year run, reflecting the Tehran mint's inconsistent production capacity during the early Pahlavi period.
