Reverse description Central device features the Imperial Iranian emblem of the Lion and Sun: a passant lion rendered in high relief, facing left, holding an upright sword in its raised right forepaw, with a radiant rising sun depicted behind its back. A Kiani crown is suspended above the lion. Below the lion, a horizontal ground line separates the main device from the denomination legend in Arabic script. The Arabic-numeral date 1281 (AH) appears at the very base of the field. The entire composition is framed by a wreath of olive and oak branches tied with a ribbon at the bottom, and enclosed within a toothed rim border.
