Obverse description Central field bears a four-line Arabic and Persian calligraphic legend in elegant Nastaliq script reading 'Al-Sultan Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar' enclosed within a finely beaded inner circle. The legend is framed by a wreath composed of olive branches to the left and oak branches to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The mint name 'Tehran' (طهران) appears in small script at the bottom of the field, below the wreath junction. The entire design is contained within a reeded border.
