Opmerkingen

The Banco Central de Venezuela contracted the American Bank Note Company for much of its mid-century production, but the plate lineage here runs deeper than a single contract. ABNC supplied notes to Venezuelan issuers across several decades, and design elements were sometimes reused or adapted across denominations within the same series, which occasionally creates confusion when attributing specific print runs to specific delivery dates.

The April 1945 printing date is notable — Venezuela was navigating the immediate aftermath of the October 1945 coup that ousted Isaías Medina Angarita, meaning notes printed just before that upheaval entered circulation under an entirely different government than the one that ordered them.
