Opmerkingen

Madagascar's shift to hybrid substrate notes in this series was driven partly by the island's climate — high humidity and inconsistent storage conditions degraded conventional cotton-paper notes faster than in temperate economies. Hybrid polymer-cotton construction offered better durability without the full cost of pure polymer.

The 2000 Ariary denomination sits in the mid-range of the post-franc series, introduced after the 2003 redenomination replaced the Malagasy Franc at a 5:1 ratio. P#96 is among the later-dated issues in the series, with the 2014–2015 print run reflecting incremental security upgrades rather than a wholesale redesign.
