| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bust of Casimir I the Restorer (Kazimierz I Odnowiciel) is portrayed facing slightly to sinister, rendered in detailed relief and occupying the lower two-thirds of the field. The king is depicted wearing a crown surmounted by a cross and dressed in ornate royal robes with decorative circular motifs. A beard and mustache lend a dignified medieval character to the effigy. The circular legend KAZIMIERZ I ODNOWICIEL 1039-1058 arcs along the upper periphery, denoting his reign, and the word PRÓBA (meaning 'trial' or 'pattern') appears to the right of the bust in the field. The design was engraved by Ewa Olszewska-Borys. |

Poland's 200-złoty collector series of the late 1970s and early 1980s documented the Piast dynasty rulers in sequence, and Kazimierz I Odnowiciel — the Restorer — was an obvious inclusion: he reconstituted the Polish state after the catastrophic pagan uprising of 1034–1039 that burned churches, expelled clergy, and collapsed central authority so thoroughly that he had to rule initially from exile in Germany. The trial strike designation here indicates a pre-production piece, almost certainly produced for internal mint approval or submitted to the National Bank of Poland for authorization before the standard .625 silver business strikes were authorized.
The .750 fineness distinguishes this from the issued version and points to an early metallurgical test rather than a later presentation piece.
