Obverse description The Polish state eagle with spread wings, displayed at center, rendered in the socialist heraldic style without a crown. The denomination '200 ZŁ' appears in large numerals in the lower field, flanked by the 'ZŁ' currency abbreviation on either side. The date '1983' is inscribed in two parts on either side of the eagle's body, with the mint mark 'MW' below. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' (Polish People's Republic) runs along the upper periphery of the coin.
