Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the Polish state eagle — a crowned white eagle with wings displayed — positioned centrally in the upper field. Flanking the eagle in the lower field are two stylized industrial emblems emblematic of the Solidarity movement's origins: shipyard cranes to the left and a mine headframe to the right, rendered in a graphic, angular style against a frosted field. The circular legend reads RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA along the upper rim, with the date 2009 along the right side; the denomination 200 ZŁ appears in the lower field between the two industrial motifs.

Aanvullende informatie

The elections of 4 June 1989 were the first partially free parliamentary elections in postwar Poland, held under a negotiated agreement from the Round Table talks between the Communist government and Solidarity. The arrangement reserved 65% of Sejm seats for the ruling coalition — but Solidarity swept every freely contested seat, a result so decisive it accelerated the collapse of Communist rule across the entire Eastern Bloc within months. Poland's transition effectively became the template.

This gold commemorative was issued on the twentieth anniversary. The .900 fineness places it in an older European alloy tradition rather than the .999 now common for modern bullion commemoratives.
