背面描述 A stylised football (soccer ball) in high relief is depicted centrally against a background of radiating diagonal lines suggesting the net of a goal, with a simplified goalpost frame rendered in the upper field. The word EUROPY in large capital letters appears across the centre of the field, with the trial strike designation PRÓBA inscribed to the lower right of that legend. Below, the year 1988 and the inscription W PIŁCE NOŻNEJ (in football) occupy the lower field, while MISTRZOSTWA (Championships) curves along the upper legend, completing the commemorative inscription for the European Football Championship.

附加信息

Poland struck several "Euro" pattern and trial pieces in the late 1980s as the communist government quietly explored monetary integration concepts — or more likely produced them for the international numismatic market, a reliable hard-currency earner for the cash-strapped state. The National Bank of Poland used such issues to generate foreign exchange, selling patterns and provas to Western collectors at a time when the złoty itself was unconvertible and economically fictional.

The 1987 die date against a 1988 catalog placement is consistent with the production pipeline for these trial pieces.
