| 正面描述 | The obverse features the crowned Polish eagle displayed in the centre of the field, rendered in a bold, stylised relief characteristic of the Polish People's Republic coinage series. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1979 is divided either side of the eagle's body in the lower field. The denomination 200 ZŁ is prominently inscribed in large numerals at the bottom of the field, flanked by the currency abbreviation ZŁ on either side. The mint mark MW appears beneath the eagle. | 背面描述 | The reverse presents a half-length effigy of Duke Mieszko I (reigned 960–992), the first historically documented ruler of Poland, depicted in a frontal, hieratic posture characteristic of medieval commemorative portraiture. The figure is shown wearing elaborate princely robes adorned with decorative clasps and a jewelled belt, holding an upright sword in his right hand as a symbol of sovereign power. The name MIESZKO I is inscribed along the left periphery, while the regnal dates 960-992 appear along the right periphery. The word PRÓBA (meaning trial or pattern) is incused vertically in the left field, identifying this piece as a proof trial strike. The reverse was engraved by Z. Kaczor. |
