Obverse description The obverse presents a stylized frontal view of the main building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, framed by a symmetrical avenue of bare, leafless trees rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field. A triangular pathway in the lower centre leads the eye toward the neoclassical facade of the academy building, above which a statue or architectural finial is visible at the apex. Centrally positioned within the triangular foreground is the Polish crowned eagle, the national emblem, rendered in high relief. The date '2004' is inscribed flanking the eagle, with the mint mark 'mw' implied, while the legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' and the denomination '200 ZŁ' are inscribed in the lower portion of the field.
